The 2nd Congress of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Lang Son Province, term 2019-2024

On the morning of May 5, 2018, the second Congress of Lang Son Vietnam – Russia Friendship Association, term 2019-2024 was organized in Lang Son city. Attending the Congress were the representative leaders from the Central Vietnam – Russia Friendship Association, the Europe Commission of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, other provinces’ Union of Friendship Organizations and Vietnam-Russia Friendship Associations. Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and with some provincial departments, commissions, sectors and businesses attended.

At the Congress, delegates heard the report presented by the Executive Committee of the first term, 2013 - 2018, evaluating the implementation results of the 1st Congress Resolution, proposing the operation direction for term 2019 - 2024. The Congress focused on evaluating and affirming the achieved results, clearly analyzing the causes of limitation and valuable lessons during the last term; at the same time, actively discussing and proposing practical solutions for the Association to operate more effectively in the future.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Lang Son province of the second term, 2019-2024 including 15 people, demonstrating the inheritance, innovation, intellectual and strength development for people's external activities.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts of the Lang Son Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association in the 2013-2018 term in maintaining and consolidating the apparatus organization and developing the Association, organizing people-to-people activities, contributing to cultivating the traditional solidarity and friendship cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian people. Mr. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Association in the next term to continue strengthening and developing members; making use of relevant agencies’ attention and direction, the support of Russian and Belarutxia partners during the implementation process; connecting Russian and Belarutxia organizations and businesses to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the province, thereby contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between Lang Son and Russian people, opening up opportunities  for practical and effective friendship cooperation.

Attending the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dang Phat, General Secretary of the Central Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association informed about the orientation directions of the Association's activities in 2019 and 2020 with many practical activities in the cross-year (2019) of Vietnam - Russia friendship relations and the 70th establishment anniversary of Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Association (former) and 70 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Soviet Union (former), Russian Federation (now). He also expressed his pleasure at the achievements of a young people-friendly association (which has just been established for 5 years) and wishing to continue to support and connect the people's external relations activities ofVietnam-Rusia Friendship Association of Lang Son province.

The 2^nd Congress of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Lang Son province, the term of 2019-2024 took place successfully, contributing to strengthening and developing the Association’s organization, promoting peace, solidarity, friendship and development cooperation with Russian Federation partners in the future.
