Mau Son Xanh – Nurturing natural wellness from the highlands of Lang Son

Amid the mist-covered mountain ranges of Mau Son—where the climate remains cool year-round, the soil is distinctive, and vegetation is abundant—nature has, for generations, bestowed a precious treasure trove of medicinal herbs. However, for a long time, these resources were largely exploited in their raw form, without the development of a systematic value chain to enhance product value or sustainably improve local livelihoods. From this aspiration, in late 2024, Mau Son Xanh Gateway Joint Stock Company was officially established in Bo Pam Hamlet, Mau Son Commune, Lang Son Province. More than simply a medicinal herb production and trading business, the company positions itself as a sustainable agricultural economic model centered on the community, with the preservation and promotion of indigenous resources as the foundation for development.

For generations, ethnic minority communities in the Mau Son highlands have maintained a close bond with rare native medicinal plants—not only for healthcare but also as part of a traditional forest-based livelihood. Yet for many years, medicinal herb harvesting and trading in Mau Son remained small-scale, fragmented, and lacking in planning or regional linkage among cultivation areas. Products were mainly sold in raw form with low added value; genetic resource conservation received insufficient attention; and a strong value chain capable of accessing broader and more stable markets had not yet been formed.

Recognizing this reality, Mau Son Xanh Gateway Joint Stock Company has gradually invested in building standardized raw material zones, linking production activities with the mission of conserving and developing indigenous medicinal resources. At the same time, the company has boldly invested in deep-processing technologies, modernized production procedures, and implemented strict quality control at every stage. From forest herbs traditionally used within communities, Mau Son Xanh is progressively transforming indigenous medicinal plants into high-quality commercial products, thereby increasing local incomes, contributing to regional economic growth, and gradually affirming the Mau Son herbal brand’s position in the market.

From its inception, the company identified the development of medicinal herbs as a methodical endeavor grounded in science and long-term sustainable values. It is currently cooperating with the National Institute of Medicinal Materials and experts in traditional herbal formulation to research and develop indigenous medicinal species. In parallel, the business is oriented toward expanding large-scale cultivation zones in the future, prioritizing native species with high medicinal value that are well suited to Mau Son’s distinctive soil and climate conditions. The goal extends beyond expanding cultivation areas; more importantly, it seeks to establish strong production linkages with local farmers. Growers are ensured stable market outlets, reasonable purchasing prices, and technical guidance in accordance with clean, safe, and sustainable cultivation standards.

In addition to building a sustainable herbal value chain, Mau Son Xanh Gateway Joint Stock Company is steadily completing a health-care product ecosystem that bears the distinctive imprint of Mau Son’s indigenous medicinal heritage. Based on valuable natural raw materials that are carefully selected and developed under strict standards, the company combines modern processing technologies with a rigorous quality control system throughout the entire production chain. As a result, Mau Son Xanh’s products not only meet consumer trends favoring safety, transparency, and traceable origins, but also aim to deliver long-term, sustainable health benefits to the community.

Outstanding products such as May Gom sleep support tea, Sam Nam Flower Tea, Sam Nam–Noni–Fo-ti capsules, and wild lemon honey preserved fruit are researched and manufactured under modern processes to ensure safety, convenience, and suitability for consumers’ natural health-care needs. May Gom sleep support tea helps relax the mind and improve sleep quality; Sam Nam flower tea supports physical nourishment and enhances immunity; Sam Nam–Noni–Fo-ti capsules assist in promoting blood circulation and improving stamina and endurance; while wild lemon honey preserved fruit soothes the throat, strengthens resistance, and supports daily health care. All products retain their natural flavors, are easy to use, and are suitable for various consumer groups.

Looking ahead, Mau Son Xanh Gateway Joint Stock Company hopes to continue receiving the partnership of scientists, research institutes, regulatory agencies, the business community, investors, and especially local farmers, in order to jointly build a sustainable herbal value chain for Lang Son. The company aims to develop medicinal herbs not merely as crops, but as stable livelihoods for local people, while contributing to sustainable and long-term socio-economic development in the province.
