Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) organization, Repubic of Korea provides funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for disadvantaged households in Lang Son province

Responding to the movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” launched by the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, and thanks to the efforts of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with the People’s Committee of Cao Loc district and relevant local agencies and unions, KFHI, Repubic of Korea (RoK) has implemented a funding aid package to support two disadvantaged households in Tan Lien commune, Cao Loc district. The total grant value is 200 million VND for replacing temporary, degraded housing.

On June 27, 2025, at Tan Lien commune, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Loc district officially delivered the aid package provided by KFHI, Repubic of Korea (RoK) to the two households in need in the area.

The handover ceremony was attended by Ms. Trinh Tuyet Mai, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nong Sy Huynh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Loc district, Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cao Loc district, along with representatives of local authorities and mass organizations. On the sponsor side, there were Mr. Park Sun Jong, Country Director of KFHI in Vietnam, and KFHI staff members.

Mr. Park Sun Jong, Country Director of KFHI, handed over grants of 100 million VND per household to two particularly disadvantaged families including Ms. Hoang Thi Tuat in Na Han hamlet and Mr. Hoang Van Phong in Tam Do hamlet, Tan Lien commune, Cao Loc district. This aid has enabled the families to build new, cleaner, safer, and more beautiful homes, helping them stabilize their lives and improve household economic conditions.

Mr. Park Sun Jong expressed his joy in joining hands with the Department of Foreign Affairs and agencies of Lang Son province to implement this meaningful program. “KFHI believes that a solid home is not just a shelter from the rain and sun but a firm foundation for families to rise up, stabilize their lives, and nurture their dreams,” he said.

On behalf of the beneficiary families, Ms. Hoang Thi Tuat and Mr. Hoang Van Phong expressed their gratitude for the attention and assistance from government agencies, local authorities, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and especially KFHI, RoK, for the financial support that enabled them to build new homes. They hope that, with continued support from authorities, organizations, and kind-hearted sponsors, many more disadvantaged families will benefit from similar programs, allowing more people to live safely and comfortably, especially as the stormy season approaches.
