At the meeting, the leader of Lang Son province presented an overview of the locality’s prominent advantages in border-gate economic development, highlighting the ongoing expansion and upgrade of the inter-regional transportation network. Lang Son currently has two international border gates (rail and road), one bilateral gate, two specialized goods transport routes, and two customs clearance crossing under international border gates, along with seven auxiliary border gates (border openings), all directly connecting with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The province's border gate system is bustling with activity, and Lang Son is focusing on investing in key transport infrastructure, including an expressway linking Ha Noi capital with Tan Thanh and Huu Nghi border gates, as well as a regional road connecting to Cao Bang province. Moreover, the province is also working with Guangxi to implement a smart border gate model, contributing to the modernization of customs clearance and logistics activities.
In addition to its strength in border-gate economy, Lang Son also emphasizes the development of industrial parks and clusters, while preserving and promoting its unique cultural values. The recent recognition of Lang Son Geopark as a UNESCO Global Geopark is testament to the province’s tourism and cultural potential - a field that holds ample room for cooperation with Australia in areas such as training, preservation, and sustainable development.
