The delegation of Lang Son province attends Meet Thailand conference in Lao Cai
From August 28-30, 2024, the delegation of Lang Son province attended Meet Thailand conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Embassy of Thailand in Vietnam and the People's Committee of Lao Cai province.
The conference was attended by Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam; leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and central ministries and sectors; Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; leaders of Lao Cai province; delegations from14 localities, businesses and business associations of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region sharing friendly and cooperative relations with localities of Thailand and domestic and foreign agencies, organizations, businesses and investors. The delegation of Lang Son province led by Ms. Trinh Tuyet Mai, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, the People's Committee of Trang Dinh district and businesses of the province attended the Conference and displayed information booths and introduced typical products of the province.

In her opening speech at the Conference, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya, affirmed that the Conference aimed to concretize the "Three Connections" Strategy adopted by the senior leaders of Vietnam and Thailand, including connecting the supply chains of mutually supportive industries, connecting the grassroots economy, connecting the sustainable development strategies of Thailand and Vietnam. The Ambassador also expressed her hope that through this Conference, Thai businesses and investors would seek trade and investment opportunities in Lao Cai, introducing about Thailand to Lao Cai in particular and to other provinces and cities in the country in general.
Within the framework of the Conference, two discussion sessions took place on connecting the grassroots economy and supply chains and connecting culture and sustainable tourism, attracting leading experts, speakers, investors, managers... coming to share experiences in a number of strong areas such as logistics, tourism, e-commerce. Additionally, there was the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Lao Cai Provincial Business Association and the Thai Business Association in Vietnam.

Also within the framework of the second "Meet Thailand" event series in Lao Cai, the opening ceremony of the booth displaying Thai - Vietnamese products took place with the participation of 25 businesses, cooperatives, distributors and consumers of Vietnamese - Thai products with a total of 36 booths, including 20 Thai booths and 16 Vietnamese booths; displaying typical products of localities and businesses of the two countries such as high-quality agricultural products, consumer goods, household appliances, etc. belonging to major brands with prestige and high quality. Lang Son province participated in displaying two booths introducing typical products and providing information and documents introducing the potential and strengths of the province to the Thai Embassy and many partners and businesses attending the Conference.
