Lang Son province attends the 59th Anniversary of Singapore's National Day

On August 14, 2024, the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam held the 59th Anniversary of Singapore's National Day (August 9, 1965 - August 9, 2024). Attending the Anniversary were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Vietnam Jaya Ratman, leaders of central ministries, commissions, sectors and localities; Ambassadors of some countries and international organizations in Vietnam attended and delivered congratulatory speeches.

The delegation of Lang Son province led by Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee includes a leader of the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs attended the Anniversary.

Addressing the Anniversary, Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratman highly appreciated the cooperation results between Singapore and Vietnam in recent times, stating that Singapore and Vietnam had always been like-minded and trustworthy par tners, sharing the same vision and always maintaining the solidarity role of ASEA. He wished to continue promoting the strategic partnership to new heights, in a substantive manner for better mutual support in responding to common challenges, to deeply develop cooperation in special areas such as smart and sustainable manufacturing, renewable energy, innovation, cybersecurity and digital transformation.

At the, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed her honor to attend the 59th Anniversary of Singapore’s National Day. She congratulated on the achievements of the Government and People of Singapore, expressed her belief that the Government and People of Singapore would continue to achieve further success in building a vibrant and inclusive, fair and competitive, resilient and united Singapore, successfully implementing the "Forward Singapore" program and enhancing Singapore's position in the region and the world. The Deputy Minister also affirmed that Vietnam and Singapore were closely linked in terms of geography and history and strategic interests in building a peaceful and prosperous region. She hoped that Vietnam and Singapore would continue to maintain solidarity and close cooperation, aiming to substantially deepening the relationship between the two countries, bringing the Strategic Partnership to a new height, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the Southeast Asian region.

For Lang Son province, cooperation and exchange activities with Singapore have begun; in particular, the VSIP Lang Son Project, which started construction in June 2024, will open up many development opportunities, act as a new growth driver and promise to attract many large enterprises to operate and invest in the province.
